House, Barn & Buildings
Our barns are the perfect setting for a corporate event with a distinct difference
South Farm provides a host of unusual, converted barn spaces for corporate guests.
When Philip Paxman bought South Farm in the early 70s, the wonderful old barnyard, flanked by the Tudor farmhouse had been unchanged since the early 19th century. Philip lovingly rescued, listed and restored the endearing collection of original elm-framed timber barns, granaries, stables and hovels. As a result, the house, barns and grounds of South Farm offer an unparalleled collection of stunning spaces for every corporate occasion and season, whatever the weather.
Pride of place is the magnificent Tudor Barn, rescued and restored five years ago. It measures 60ft x 30ft and is ideal for presentations, seating up to 180 theatre-style.
Across the Courtyard is the old Cow Bier, now once again opened up its entire 65 ft length and extensively glazed to create the wonderful Conservatory. The Conservatory measures 65ft x 16ft and is suitable for breakout sessions, refreshments, luncheons and dinners. It adjoins the Conference Room.
Adjoining the Conservatory is the ancient Granary (known as the Conference Room), now used as an annex to the Conservatory and for smaller meetings. The Conference Room measures 22ft x 18ft and can seat up to sixteen people conference style.
The old animal barn still stands on the north side of the barnyard and is home to our collection of rare breed farm animals.
The Hall, Drawing Room and Dining Room in the main house provide a suite of rooms for more informal meetings, perfectly suited to corporate luncheons and dinners. The Dining Room can seat up to sixteen at a single large oval table for meals, or eight to ten for board meetings.
