Elderflower cordial production | 9 June 2011

The unusual weather this year has meant that we have had to start our elderflower harvest earlier than normal.  With the heat and sunshine bringing out the flowers prematurely, it has unfortunately had a negative impact on our crop.  The shorter season caused by strong winds and drought has seen the normal level of our yield shrink, and instead of our making our normal 400 litres of elderflower cordial, to-date we have only made 150 litres.  But don’t worry, we still have plenty of stock so the Elderlinis are still on the menu!
