“It was one of the best days of my life and I was so happy to experience it with you guys. Thank you for an amazing day”

Step into Chloe and Daniel’s beautifully unique wedding at South Farm, where Old Norse meets modern love in an unforgettable celebration. Set in our eco-conscious wedding venue in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside, their ceremony embraced dramatic Viking-inspired styling, handcrafted outfits, and heartfelt personal touches. From an intimate ceremony in the Old Dairy to fabulous photos with our sweet little piggies, every detail reflected their personalities. A day so uniquely theirs – it was a joy to witness and be part of.

Time of your ceremony: 2:00pm

Location of your ceremony: The Old Dairy

We’d love to hear your first date stories or tell us how and when you first met?
We met on Tinder in December 2018 and our first date was in February 2019, but after a few years we found out that we had already met a few years prior at a local pub. Dan asked me to be his girlfriend on the first date and I of course said yes!

Which parts of the venue did you use on your big day?
We wanted to have our ceremony outside in the Summerhouse but unfortunately it was raining the morning of our big day. So we had the ceremony in the Old Dairy and then had our reception and meal in the Tudor Barn.

Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
Our favourite spot for the photos was probably either in the barnyard with the pigs or in the walkway between the two barns as the foliage above us was beautiful!

Tell us about any special themes you had for your wedding day and how you styled your big day?
We had an Old Norse-themed wedding (Viking) it was very different but also very unique to us.

How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
South Farm was advertised a lot on Facebook and whilst we were looking at venues we decided to book a showround. At first we didn’t think it would be the kind of venue that we would want, but oh my goodness how wrong we were. It was our ideal wedding venue. We decided almost instantly that South Farm was our wedding venue.

Tell us some detail about your special day?
The staff were so accommodating and helpful and really helped to put our minds at rest so that we could just enjoy the day and not have to worry or stress.

How did you feel on the day?
We were obviously both very excited but also nervous. When you get married there are so many emotions that go through your head but South farm was 100% the best venue with even better staff.

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
I think it made our day even more special knowing that the staff were genuinely so excited for us and also very excited to see a themed wedding like ours held at their venue, that they’ve never seen before. Dan says that his most memorable moment of the day was when he first saw me coming down the aisle.

How did you choose your ceremony and first dance music?
Honestly, we were toying with the decision of the first dance songs and ceremony songs, but as soon as we heard them we knew they had to be a part of our special day as they’re incredibly special to us. Dan listens to music all day every day at work and as soon as our first dance song came on (Endlessly by Amaranthe) it made him instantly think of me.

How many Bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your Bridesmaids?
I had three Bridesmaids but asked four people. Unfortunately one of my girls couldn’t make the wedding, so I just stuck with the three, I asked all of them in person when it was just me and them and they all said yes.

How did you pick your Best Men and Ushers?
Everyone that I had on my side were and still are incredibly important to me. I had my two brothers and three of my closest mates. My Best Man, was my best friend since I was a child and the rest are just all round legends.

How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had the Father of the Bride, the Bride’s Uncle (who stepped in to represent the Bride’s stepfather who passed away almost a year beforehand), our Maid of Honour, our Best Man and the Mother of the Groom along with the Groom.

Dan’s advice would be to prepare a speech beforehand and don’t try to wing it or write it last minute as it won’t go down well.

What did you wear?
We wore traditional Old Norse clothing that we either had hand-made (the Bride’s entire outfit) or that we had shipped into the country.

Is there anything you would have done differently?
Honestly, no. Everything went amazingly and we couldn’t of asked for a better day.

What are your top tips for other couples?
Be organised. Honestly, even if you think ah we’ve got time, or no we can’t do that because its too early to do that. Just do it. Honestly, organisation is going to be your best friend when it comes to getting married.

Where did you go on honeymoon?
We went to York for our honeymoon as it was also ‘Viking Fest Week’ and had an amazing time!
