After a busy start to the year completing our winter venue improvements including repainting, re-modelling, and gorgeous landscaping we are excited to announce a few NEW upgrades at our barn style wedding venue based in Hertfordshire.
We’re delighted to announce that our five bespoke and luxurious guest bedrooms, as well as our Farmhouse dining room, have had a fabulous makeover! We’ve been working with our friend, and original designer of our gorgeous bedrooms, Kate Mackenzie from Mackenziehome.co.uk. Kate is friendly, fabulous and incredibly easy to work with so it was a dream to have her involved again. The bedrooms are looking more stylish than ever and all ready to host our couples and their wedding guests for the dreamiest nights’ stay. We can’t wait for you to see the updates — we think you’ll love them.
The Coach House Suite
Our lovely Coach House Suite has had a fresh and stylish makeover — while still retaining all it’s charm of course – and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! Our team have poured their hearts into every little detail to make sure it’s picture-perfect for our couples. Downstairs, the carpet has been swapped for a sleek new wooden floor with bespoke rug, we’ve added plush new seating, refreshed the worktops with a beautifully new finish, and updated the soft furnishings to bring an extra layer of comfort and charm.
The Coach House Suite is the perfect space to kick off your wedding day with your nearest and dearest. Set over two floors and completely self-contained, it boasts dreamy views over the gardens, a stunning floor-to-ceiling light-filled dressing area made for those magical ‘First Look’ moments, and the cosiest, most romantic boudoir for your first night as newlyweds. And the best part? It’s all yours, with our compliments.
Oh — and did we mention there’s a fridge to keep your bubbles perfectly chilled? Cheers to that!
The Couch House Suite Lobby
Our newly transformed Lobby is the perfect welcome to The Coach House Suite. With rich wooden panelling, elegant lighting, and beautifully curated soft furnishings, the space now exudes warmth and style. Thoughtfully designed to echo the tones and textures of The Coach House Suite, it truly sets the tone for a truly memorable stay.
Our Coach House Suite also features a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom, designed with both style and comfort in mind. You’ll find plush white robes ready for you to slip into, along with a selection of luxury toiletries to add a touch of spa-like bliss to your stay. Whether it’s a peaceful morning refresh or a soothing soak after a day full of wedding celebrations, this little sanctuary is all about helping you relax, unwind, and feel utterly pampered.
The Parrot Room
The Parrot Room has had a little refresh too —and it’s looking more charming than ever. With a new sumptuous kind size bed, updated soft furnishings, a fresh coat of paint, and playful parrot-themed wallpaper now gracing both the bathroom and lavatory, every detail sings in harmony. It’s full of character, comfort, and a touch of whimsy — just the way we like it.
Did you know The Parrot Room offers the perfect vantage point for your photographer to capture a gorgeous group shot of your guests gathered in the Courtyard below? The view from the main window is just made for those unforgettable moments — picture-perfect from every angle – and you may even get a sneaky view of the piglets in the barnyard in the background!
The Stable Room
The Stable Room has undergone some fabulous updates this year, and we’re so excited to share the transformation! From a brand-new bathroom and a luxurious new king size bed downstairs bed, to a fresh lick of paint, updated bronze switch plates and beautifully upgraded soft furnishings — every detail has been thoughtfully refreshed to perfectly complement its new, elevated look.
This charming bedroom is wonderfully spacious and can comfortably sleep four adult guests — perfect for families or a group of friends who are happy to share – we also have two camp beds and two travel cots if you need to accommodate little ones in bedrooms.
The Dovecote
Our ever-popular Dovecote has had a beautiful refresh—and it’s looking more stylish than ever! We’ve swapped out the old bed frame for a charming new wooden design that adds a touch of rustic elegance, perfectly in keeping with the room’s character. The walls have been brought to life with stunning dove-themed wallpaper now on three walls with matching lampshades (a little nod to the room’s name), creating a soft, serene atmosphere that feels both cosy and refined.
We’ve also added elegant new wooden console units in both rooms, given the room a fresh coat of paint, and introduced plush new soft furnishings in both rooms to tie everything together beautifully. The result? A thoughtfully upgraded space that’s full of warmth, charm, and just the right amount of luxury— ready to welcome guests in comfort and style.
The Tack Room
Last but certainly not least, we’re thrilled to share the refreshed Tack Room. This charming bedroom has received a lovely update, starting with gorgeous new panelling and a fresh coat of paint. We’ve added a stylish wooden console table that enhances the room’s rustic elegance, and complemented the look with upgraded soft furnishings that make the space even more inviting.
Designed for ultimate comfort, the Tack Room offers the perfect retreat after a busy day of wedding celebrations. Whether you’re unwinding after a night of dancing or enjoying a peaceful night’s rest, this room has everything you need for a relaxing, restful stay.
The Romany Wagons
At the start of the year, you may have noticed our full fleet of five fabulous Romany Wagons weren’t in their usual spots. That’s because each one was carefully transported to our Farm Barn in the smallholding, where our team spent time hand-painting every detail to perfection. The result? They’re now looking more vibrant than ever, ready to add that extra touch of magic to your wedding day photos.
The House Dining Room
The Dining Room, nestled at the heart of the Farmhouse just off the Entrance Hall, has undergone a significant upgrade this year, and we’re certain you’ll fall in love with the results. We completely stripped the room back to reveal some stunning hidden elm beams, which have been lovingly restored to their full glory, while stylish new light fittings bring a modern touch.
To tie everything together, we’ve added new soft furnishings that complement the warm golden tones of the elm beams and flooring. The space is now looking absolutely fantastic and is being enjoyed by everyone — from our Registrars and couples visiting for a viewing, to those having their all important planning meetings. Our plan is to add in an antique table and chairs – we are just waiting for the right ones to turn up at auction! and we will then reupholster the chair seats in a new contrasting fabric to complement the rest of the room it’s going to be stunning!
At South Farm, we’re embracing Spring with vibrant bursts of colour as the grounds come to life, and our adorable new ducklings have become the cutest little wedding crashers!
