If you have your heart set on a Summer wedding our latest wedding inspiration blog will tell you all about what’s growing in our farm and gardens in the beautiful Summer months.

We love all the seasons at South Farm but a Summer wedding will make the most of the longer daylight hours, warmer weather and hopefully lots of sunshine and gorgeous sunsets on your Wedding Day! Our farm and gardens look so beautiful bathed in the glow of summer sunlight and it’s the perfect time of year for an outdoor wedding ceremony. We’ve a choice of four stunning indoor ceremony spaces if you prefer and you can make the most of all our gardens by holding an outdoors drinks reception after your wedding ceremony – think delicious Pimms, delicate canapés and an abundance of colour in the gardens with so many spots for unique wedding photos!

As we head into June we’re always excited to see the red roses bloom around the farmhouse door making the perfect backdrop for wonderful wedding photos and a great setting for confetti photos too! The red roses flower all through the Summer and we also grow red roses on the farm, harvesting and drying the petals for our homegrown confetti!  We supply dried rose petals all year round for our couples so your confetti shower will always look beautiful and be kind to the planet at the same time!

In the gardens our stunning purple alliums continue to flower through June and July along with so many other colourful blooms. The cherry trees on the driveway are laden with beautiful red fruit. On the farm an abundance of summer fruit and vegetables are harvested ready for your delicious wedding feast! We use all our homegrown produce in our wedding menus, with mint, tomatoes, apples, pears, broad beans, strawberries and raspberries, just a few of our delicious summer crops used in our wedding menus and to garnish delicious summer Pimms and cocktails!

Wedding feasts take place in The Tudor Barn, our largest, grandest space – decorate as much or a little as you wish in-keeping with your summer colour scheme and theme.  The Tudor Barn looks stunning with lots of colour but is equally beautiful with the simplest decorative touches.  Our soft ceiling drapes and twinkling fairy lights throughout the barn make it the perfect setting for your first meal as a married couple!

In July the beautiful pale pink rambling rose by the garden bridge blooms with delicate flowers, making it another perfect backdrop for wedding photos. Our gardens are green and lush throughout in the Summer months – our garden team carefully tend the gardens and water the lawns as much as needed using our sustainable water source. The wisteria on the house and walkways is green and leafy throughout the summer and makes another stunning backdrop for your memorable wedding photos. On the ponds the glossy leaves of the lily pads bloom with their exotic flowers. From June – August our beautifully scented lavender and wildflowers in the meadows attract the bees and butterflies. Throughout the Summer you can usually see piglets in the barnyard and you might catch a glimpse of our gorgeous white peacocks wandering on the farm too.

All the Summer months are really stunning and can make the perfect time of year for an outdoor wedding. Outdoor wedding ceremonies can be held in the garden summerhouse through the Summer months at the discretion of the registrars and weather permitting.  If you prefer a rustic barn wedding ceremony our gorgeous barns and country farm house offer a wonderful range of spaces for an indoor wedding ceremony.

Take a look at our lovely Summer gallery of images for your wedding day inspiration and do get in touch if you’d like to visit our barn wedding venue. We’d love to show you all that South Farm has to offer and hear all about your exciting wedding plans!

From start to finish the day was perfect. We wish we could do it all again.
