Lizzy the Celebrant
If you want the “best day of your life” to actually feel like you, and not a tick-box script led by someone you don’t know, then I think I might be your lady.
I’m here to create a ceremony that’s totally tailored to you: thoughtful, heartfelt, and filled with laughter. I’ll spend time getting to know you both, digging into what makes your story special, and shaping it into something that feels joyful, genuine and relaxed (and absolutely not cringey).
I truly believe this part of your day should be just as fun and memorable as the party that follows, not the bit you fast-forward through. Whether you want a ceremony that’s warm and romantic, light and cheeky, or a mix of everything in between, I’ll make sure it lands just right.
It should go without saying, but I’m proudly LGBTQ+ inclusive (the L applies to me too!). In fact, organising my own wedding in a woodland glade on my wife’s family farm is what inspired me to become a celebrant. Having one just makes the ceremony so much more awesome.
What’s included?
- Initial planning meeting on Zoom/in person (depending on your location)
- Unlimited Zoom calls/WhatsApps/emails to get everything just right
- Detailed couples’ questionnaire
- A unique, bespoke ceremony script, reviewed and approved by you
- Advice and guidance on music
- Advice and guidance on readings
- Information on symbolic gestures
- One rehearsal (if required)
- Coordination with venue staff, photographer, musicians, etc.
- Early arrival on the day to help set up and support all involved
- Ceremony delivery
- Confetti photo coordination immediately after (if required)
Are we going to get on?
If you’re already here, I really think we will… but just so you know a bit more about me:
I’m someone who loves music, sport, food, wine, whisky, sea swimming, and walking my Norfolk Terrier (unless she legs it after a squirrel then I absolutely cannot abide her). My wife and I met on a hockey pitch 13 years ago. We now have an overly independent toddler who is actually pretty awesome… when she sleeps.
Want to know more? OK, headline facts: my first paid job was singing in the church choir at weddings. So technically, I’ve been doing market research in this industry since the age of 7 (?!) maybe that’s why I LOVE it when couples include assembly banger singalongs in their ceremonies.
I got a distinction in my Grade 8 clarinet at 14, though I haven’t taken it out of its box for five years (sorry Mum). Music’s still a huge part of my life, so much so that I work in the music industry too. That’s my “day job” (and also my night job, let’s be honest). It might sound cool, but it’s the “geeky” side; classical music. The artists I manage are incredible, performing at places like Glastonbury, Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, the BBC Proms, and the Berlin Philharmonie.
So, why do I do this too?
Because I love it. And honestly, what’s more joyful than being part of a day where people are having the best time of their lives? Plus, I quite like the sound of my own voice… and people say I’m reasonably OK at using it.
Shall we set up a video call (free of charge, of course), just to make sure we actually get on? It’s important that we do we’ll be chatting a lot in the coming months, and, let’s face it, my face will be popping up in your family photo albums for years to come.
