Hi, I’m Rafe – a Hertfordshire based Documentary Wedding Photographer. It’s the unscripted, natural moments during the day that excite myself and my clients, and my calm, yet confident approach to helping manage your day means I can slip into the shadows when needed to tell the story of your day without being intrusive.

Howdy soon-to-be wedded folk! You’ve chosen extremely well with your choice of venue! I’m a Creative Documentary Photographer & Film-maker who shoots and films at South Farm about a dozen times each year.
I absolutely love shooting/filming there, as both the team and venue are exceptional. I know the venue like the back of my hand. I know how the light falls in every month of the year, and how to optimise it for the best possible bride & groom portraits. I only live 30 minutes away by car, and my youngest son has been lucky enough to get a job as part of the wedding crew!
I place a huge importance on relationships with everyone at the wedding, from the couple, their friends and families to the venue staff. Having fun with everyone enables me to get close to the action and capture those ‘fly on the wall’ moments.
Whilst I employ a very documentary approach to most of the day, I always make time to capture some stunning images of the bride and groom in their surroundings, and always make sure we get those family group shots for Mum & Dad too. The rest of the day is all about capturing things naturally without staging or interruption.
I love to shoot late into the party, and have mastered the use of flash creatively, thus enabling me to shoot weddings at all times of the year. I also actively like to assist with Day Plans and offering advice to couples during their planning phase, based on my own experiences at over 450 weddings, of which 60 have been at South Farm!
My prices start at £1995 so please get in touch for a good old natter about your big day! I offer the rare combination of being able to offer photography and videography together, or independently, and will happily work alongside other photography and videography teams as well.
