Anna & Stuart’s early April Wedding was the first outdoor wedding of the year at our countryside wedding venue and what a beautiful day it was! They held their Jewish Wedding Ceremony under a beautiful Chuppah decorated with perfect pastel roses and they saved a very special first dance surprise for their wedding guests – read all about the story of their amazing wedding day!

Date of wedding: 2nd April 2023

Time of ceremony: 3pm

Location of ceremony: Outside on the garden lawn under a beautiful Chuppah

How did you first meet?
We actually met at another wedding! The bride sat us next to each other… I wonder why??

Which parts of the venue you used for your big day?
We had our ceremony outside on the lawn with our drinks reception outside and in the Old Dairy, Our Wedding breakfast was in the Tudor Barn and we had our dancing in the Horse Barn – we used everywhere!

Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
Definitely around the grounds – we had the first outdoor wedding of the year and the daffodils were in full bloom, it was beautiful!

Tell us about any special colour schemes you had for your wedding day?
My dress had pink, gold and silver embroidery so that was the central theme. The girls were all in pink and the boys had gold accents

How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
My husband (!) is super afraid of needles. We were having our Covid-19 vaccines and to distract him, the nurse was telling us about how she just had her wedding at South Farm and she had the most magical day. Of course we then had to check it out ourselves and quickly fell in love!

Tell us some detail about your special day?
We are Jewish so we had our wedding under a Chuppah with Israeli dancing and the classic smashing of a glass – he didn’t miss!

How did you feel on the day?
Really serene – all of the preparation was done, I was just floating around on a cloud of happiness!

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
Our first dance – we had secretly been going to lessons for a few weeks before the wedding. It went perfectly and I didn’t fall over!

How did you choose your ceremony music?
We used the band that my best friend had so we had already had a fantastic preview! We worked closely with them to pick a beautiful piece by Ludavico Einaudi to walk down the isle to and they played classic Jewish wedding songs during the ceremony.

How many bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your bridesmaids?
We had four bridesmaids and I did the classic bridesmaid proposal with a cute gift box and a handwritten note

How did you pick your best men and ushers?
My husband’s brother was naturally the best man and my brother was an usher. We also had two of my husband’s best friends as ushers.

How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had three speeches – a welcome by my dad, the best man and the groom. My advice is don’t ramble on! Short and sweet so we can get to the dancing haha!

What did you wear?
I wore a customized A-line dress with pink, silver and gold embroidery and a matching veil

Is there anything you would have done differently?
Our day went perfectly – we wouldn’t change a thing

What are your top tips for other couples?
Get a Master of Ceremonies – he really helped to ensure the day ran smoothly and everyone knew what was going on and where to be

Where did you go on honeymoon?
We went to Tahiti 2 days after the wedding for absolute paradise! My parents went there for their honeymoon
