Carrie and Lee got married at South Farm in a beautiful barn wedding ceremony and choose a stunning autumnal colour scheme of greens, browns and oranges. Their gorgeous wedding colours perfectly matched the changing autumn shades in our grounds and gardens. We loved catching up with them to hear all about their October Wedding Day!

How and when did you first met?
We met online and had our first date in Cambridge
Which parts of the venue you used for your big day?
We held our ceremony in the Tudor Barn, Drinks reception in the Old Dairy, our wedding breakfast and evening reception in Tudor Barn with dancing in Horse Barn
Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
In front of the farmhouse and behind the farmhouse in the gardens

We had an autumnal theme with a colour scheme of greens, browns and oranges
How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
We attended a friends wedding at South Farm previously and fell in love with the venue. When looking for our own wedding venue we were drawn back to South Farm and the relaxed vibe.
How did you feel on the day?
We both felt so happy and so loved, it was amazing to have everyone we love in one place.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
Our first dance and performing Queen with our band!
How did you choose your ceremony / first dance music?
All the music we chose has a special meaning to us.
How many bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your bridesmaids?
We had three bridesmaids who we asked during lock down by sending them a personalised bottle of Prosecco.
How did you pick your best men and ushers?
They are all very good friends of ours.
How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had three speeches – Father of the Bride, Best man and Groom. Our advice would be to speak from the heart!
What did you wear?
Carrie – I wore a Justin Alexander gown from Shades of White
Lee – I wore a suit from Chimney Formal Menswear
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Nothing – the whole day was perfect
What are your top tips for other couples?
Relax and enjoy, have faith that all your planning will go to plan.
Where did you go/where do you plan to go on honeymoon?
We had a mini moon in Bruges the weekend after the wedding and our Honeymoon is booked for Crete in Spring
