Corrine & Dean had a stunning Barn Wedding ceremony in the Old Dairy with a dusty blue and pink Spring-themed colour scheme. Their photos took place in the gardens where the daffodils made the perfect backdrop for beautiful Spring wedding photos. We caught up with them to hear about their wedding planning and how they felt on the day itself!

Wedding Date: Sunday 26th March 2023
Ceremony Time: 2pm
Ceremony Location: The Old Dairy

We’d love to hear your first date stories and how you first met!
We met through a friend of a friend – Dean went to a 50th birthday celebration and made a comment about how to meet people not though the internet. The friend decided to set him up on a blind date, which happened to be me…….the rest as they say, is history.

Which parts of the venue you used for your big day?
Our ceremony and reception drinks were in The Old Dairy, the meal was in The Tudor Barn and the dancing on the light up dance floor in The Horse Barn!

Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
Lots of beautiful shots outside, including the garden bridge, the front of the farm house and the driveway. I also loved going into the barnyard with the piglets. I enjoyed the photos with all the daffodils too as the colours were beautiful.

Tell us about any special colour schemes or themes you had for your wedding day?
We went with a rustic woodland animal theme as we both love the outdoors. The colour scheme was dusty blue and pink as they are nice spring colours.

How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
I had been researching venues before Dean even proposed and came across South Farm on a Google search. It looked perfect, we booked a viewing and I don’t think we even made it to the end of the drive before we decided the wedding had to be here!

Tell us some details about your special day?
We always knew that the weather could be all over the place getting married in March but when the rain was torrential on the drive in the morning I was preparing for the worse. However, the rain stopped as soon as the guests started arriving and therefore got to have our beautiful photos outside.

How did you feel on the day?
Quite relaxed for the majority of the morning but that was down to the staff and to hair and makeup and the photographer being so good at what they do. Nerves started to kick in as I waited for to enter the wedding ceremony. Dean was quite nervous too and worried that he would get emotional.

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
To be honest, I couldn’t pick anything out, it was all perfect – but if I was forced to, then it would be feeding the pigs!

How did you choose your ceremony music?
For the ceremony, we chose words that we thought best suited us. Our first song was Tightrope from The Greatest Showman as it is a beautiful song but also on the soundtrack that Dean bought me when we first got together.

How many bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your bridesmaids?
We had four bridesmaids, three were my nieces and I asked them at a family BBQ. The fourth was my oldest friend (we have been friends since we were three). I bought her a card that said ‘I can’t say I do without you’  – she obviously cried and said yes!

How did you pick your best men and ushers?
Dean had 2 best men, one was his 18 year old son so was always going to be one. The other was his close friend Dave who he has known many years. He asked him over a beer.

How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had the traditional three speeches (our maid of honor bottled it at the last minute! ). Dean enjoys public talking so it comes easily to him .

What did you wear?
Dean had a dark blue 3 piece suit and I had a ¾ length wedding dress

Is there anything you would have done differently?
We would have asked someone to save us some cake as it looked beautiful but we didn’t get any. Otherwise no, the day was perfect.

What are your top tips for other couples?
Enjoy it and take as much in as you can.

Where did you go/where do you plan to go on honeymoon?
We went on a minimoon to the New Forest the next day but our big one is in August when we head to Canada and Alaska
