Jess & Ross held their Wedding on a beautiful July day. They chose South Farm for their wedding because of the option to hold their ceremony and drinks reception outdoors and on the big day itself the weather didn’t disappoint! The sun shone and they were able to enjoy the gardens for their ceremony, drinks reception and beautiful wedding photos. We caught up with them to hear how they planned their perfect wedding day!

We’d love to hear how you first met?
We knew each other when we was younger and in primary school and then started talking again. For our first date we visited a country park for a walk and a picnic.
Which parts of the venue you used for your big day?
We had our ceremony in the garden Summer house, our drinks reception was outside in the gardens and we had after dinner coffee in The Old Dairy. Our wedding meal and evening dancing were in the Tudor Barn.
Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
Our favourite places were on the garden bridge and in the paddocks near the sheep.
How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
We found South Farm online and we choose the venue because of the outdoor aspect and it’s style, facilities and also the price
Tell us some detail about your special day?
The day ran smoothly due to our amazing Event Manager, Hayley. The whole day was so magical and memorable. We both felt so comfortable and at ease. On our special day we also had our loved ones that are no longer with us through a memory table with their pictures and flowers on.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
The whole day was memorable – it was all just perfect, it’s impossible to pick just one moment! There is nothing we would have changed about the day!
How did you choose your bridesmaids and Best Man? I had three bridesmaids and one maid of honor and I asked them to be my bridesmaids using proposal boxes! Our best man was Ross’s best friend!
How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had three speeches and our advice would be simple – relax, plan and keep it simple but memorable.
What did you wear on your special day?
Jess – I wore a white wedding dress from Heart Brides
Ross – I wore a navy suit with champagne waistcoat and yellow tie from Skope
What are your top tips for other couples?
Relax and enjoy your day and trust your venue as they will have your back. Our top tips would be to also plan what you want and don’t think too much about what others like – it’s your day after all!
Where did you go on honeymoon?
Our honeymoon was in Cancun in Mexico!
