Louise & Richie held their beautiful wedding on 1st April this year. A pretty layer of snow fell early in the morning as they got ready for their big day. The sun soon came out and our happy couple enjoyed stunning wedding photos in the gardens and grounds with the pretty spring blossom making a beautiful wedding day backdrop!
We caught up with Louise and Richie to hear all about their big day!

Which parts of the venue you used for your big day?
We said our wedding vows at Colmworth church – after getting ready on the wedding morning at South Farm. We had our wedding reception in the Old Dairy and Granary where we enjoyed canapés, welcome drinks and music from the Matt Strafford band. Our wedding breakfast was in the Tudor Barn and after dinner we went back to the Granary where we met our evening guests and then had sparklers in the courtyard. We had music and dancing in the Horse Barn and a photobooth set up in the Tudor Barn.
Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
We love our photos outside of the front door, the little bridge at the pond and in front of the cherry blossom trees.
Tell us about any special colour schemes or themes you had for your wedding day?
We choose navy suits for the groomsmen and taupe dresses for the bridesmaids.
Our two boys were in matching blue suits and white converse trainers
We used our favorite pubs/bars as table names!
How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
I saw that someone I knew got married there years ago and their photos just wowed me. I had forgotten the name of South Farm but I knew the location so found it and nothing could compare.
Tell us some detail about your special day?
Our Event Manager Helen was just absolutely amazing from the start she looked after me straight away, ensuring everything I envisaged came to life, nothing was a problem. Helen worked so hard for us!! The day couldn’t have gone any better, even with snow in the morning the sun was shining through it (3 degrees) but it didn’t rain. You would never know how cold it was looking at the photos.
How did you feel on the day?
Like a celebrity, completely spoilt with attention and love lol I felt like a million dollars!!! Such a special day I’ll treasure always.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
Getting ready, seeing my folks reaction in my dress, changing my little boy in his suit, getting the giggles with Richie when our photos were being taken, speeches and dancing – lots of dancing! Just such a special happy day with my new hubby
How did you choose your ceremony and first dance music?
We created our playlist over a year, we used it for the church and whilst we had our meal. Classical film theme.
Our first dance song was Cry to me by Solomon Burke – an absolute classic from one of the best films.
How many bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your bridesmaids?
I had three bridesmaids, from age 11 I always said they would be my bridesmaids if I ever got married ❤ I phoned them individually and said they were waiting for my call LOL!!
How did you pick your best men and ushers?
Richie had two best men and all his close buddies from school as his ushers, six in total.
How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had four speeches in total – Father of the bride, Groom, Maid of honour and Best men
I told my Dad to go for it and embarrass me LOL – his speech was funny, full of pride and so lovely. All the speeches were emotional, funny and just perfect.
What did you wear?
I wore a Morilee dress named Pippa
Is there anything you would have done differently?
No!!
What are your top tips for other couples?
Go with it, take it easy with drinks until 9pm then go for it
Where did you go/where do you plan to go on honeymoon?
Our beautiful wedding guests kindly gave us money as a wedding gift so we could get away on a 5* all inclusive honeymoon to Mexico. It was absolutely perfect!
