Olivia & William met through their love of athletics and they both went to the gym on their wedding morning to burn off extra energy and any last minute nerves! Their shared interests, including their love of books, featured in their beautiful wedding day and it sounds like, from the moment they met, they both knew it was meant to be!

Tell us how and when you first met!
We met at the University of Lincoln through the athletics club, at the first track meet of the year. Walking back from the track, Olivia said ‘we’ll get on like a house on fire’, and the rest was history!

Ceremony – Summerhouse
Drinks reception – Garden/Outside
Evening Meal – Tudor Barn
Dancing – Everywhere!
Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
Definitely the wild flower gardens and all round the grounds
Tell us about any special colour schemes / themes you had for your wedding day or how you styled your big day?
Colour Scheme – Sage, Lavender, White
Themes – Rustic with floral/foliage details. We are huge readers and connected through our love of books so all the tables were named after authors and we used our vintage dickens collection to decorate the tables.
How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
We found south farm through a search of the local area. We chose it within minutes of walking around – we really wanted a relaxed and country wedding, with plenty of outside space and nature. The welcoming staff team and incredible food were a bonus!
Tell us some detail about your special day?
We both went to the gym that morning to get rid of any excess energy/nerves
Arrived at the venue at 10am and blinked and it was time to walk down the aisle!
The day was such a blur but what stood out was how seamless and well run everything was, we didn’t have to worry about a thing!
How did you feel on the day?
SO excited!
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
Our personalized vows and our first dance – the bits we were most nervous for ironically!
For Olivia, the time with my Dad before we walked down the aisle was so special.
How did you choose your ceremony / first dance music?
The ceremony music was written and recorded by Olivia’s brother, which is something we knew we wanted. He is an incredible musician and we wanted to showcase that, whilst making it even more special for us.
The first dance we actually changed very last minute after Will heard it and sent it to Olivia saying that it made him think of us – we loved it.
How many bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your bridesmaids?
We had six Bridesmaids and two Flower girls – I asked the bridesmaids at a surprise picnic in the woodland behind our house, we were just out of COVID restrictions so they thought it was a general catch up until they arrived to a balloons, gifts and food!
How did you choose as your best men and ushers?
We chosen William’s Brother, Olivia’s Brother and best friend
How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
We had three speeches – Groom, Best Man, and Father of The Bride.
Our advice would be – Relax… no one knows how the speech is supposed to go but you! A good mix of humour and heartfelt.

We would have recorded the vows and the speeches
What are your top tips for other couples?
Ask your friends to redivert you to each-other at points during the day, and make sure you take 5 minutes occasionally together to take it all in
Where did you go/where do you plan to go on honeymoon?
We went to Cornwall for a long weekend to relax but are going interrailing in September as our honeymoon!
