If you are planning your wedding and can’t decide what time of year you would like to get married we can help! We are often asked what our barn style wedding venue, farm and gardens look like at different times of the year. So we thought we would put together a series of blog posts to tell you all about the different seasons at our countryside wedding venue.

Let’s start with what a perfect Spring wedding might look like. Spring starts on 1st March and brings us three gorgeous months full of blossom and blooms which will make your wedding day truly memorable and your wedding photos very special!

As we head into March the crocuses around the farm and gardens are beautiful – a carpet of yellow and purple as you enter our countryside wedding venue in Hertfordshire. There are pretty white crocuses popping up on the meadows too. The gardens around our Romany wagons, farmhouse and paddocks are full of yellow daffodils their heads raised to the sun and looking so pretty. Another March treat is the first blossom on the farm, starting with the fruit trees in the paddocks and herb gardens it’s super pretty and so delicate. The clocks change towards the end of March bringing lighter, longer evenings and year round we are lucky to get some stunning sunsets over the paddocks and terrace.

In April the daffodils give way to gorgeous tulips which look so pretty in the formal gardens. April is a really special time as the cherry blossom on the driveway appears – it’s a real favourite – a stunning canopy of cherry blossom is a perfect setting for gorgeous Spring wedding photos and makes a dreamy backdrop for our colourful Romany Wagons too!

Lovely May brings the wisteria, so pretty against the colours of the farmhouse and along the walkways next to The Old Dairy. The garden beds and herb garden are also filled with beautiful alliums and the gardens are filled with pretty Spring colours.

Spring also brings some exciting new beginnings on the farm too with the arrival of lambs, piglets, chicks, ducklings and baby birds. We’re so grateful to have such gorgeous rare breed animals and so much wildlife on the farm making it a really special setting for your Spring wedding.

All the Spring months have something really special to offer and can make the perfect time of year for a outdoor wedding. Ceremonies can be held in the garden summerhouse from March 1st at the discretion of the registrars and weather permitting. If you prefer a rustic barn wedding our gorgeous barns and farmhouse offer a stunning choice of options for an indoor ceremony.

Take a look at our gorgeous Spring gallery of images too for wedding inspiration and do get in touch if you’d like to visit our country house wedding venue. We’d love to show your around and hear all about your wedding day plans! Next up will be a Summer wedding inspiration blog – coming soon!

Happy memories are the most important things we hold, thank you again.
