Sam and Dan got married at South Farm in a stunning December wedding. We love their colour scheme which perfectly complimented the Winter Season. They told us that they both felt amazing on their special day and there was not a single thing they would have done differently!

We met in Cambridge through someone we used to know 15 years ago.
Which parts of the venue did you use for your big day?
We had the ceremony in the Old Dairy. We had the wedding breakfast and wedding reception in the Tudor Barn
Which was your favourite spot for wedding photos?
Inside the Drawing Room
Tell us about any special colour schemes you had for your wedding day?
We went with winter reds and white, mixed with a little bit of green to make the season.
How did you first hear about South Farm and what made you choose our venue for your wedding day?
We found the website online. And when we visited, Sam instantly fell in love with the venue.
Tell us some details about your special day?
The day was perfect. Everyone loved the venue and the food. The music choices during the ceremony were movies themes (apart from the bride’s entrance music). The music throughout the wedding breakfast were piano versions of Christmas songs and love songs. We loved the wedding reception music provided by the venue’s resident DJ Gary. The staff were absolutely amazing and made sure the day went without a hitch.
How did you feel on the day?
Absolutely amazing, excited and nervous.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding?
For Dan it’s seeing Sam for the first time in her wedding dress. For Sam, it’s walking down the aisle with her dad.
How did you choose your first dance music?
We choose it by going through songs that we love and that fitted us. We chose Meatloaf – I’d Lie for You.
How many bridesmaids did you have and how did you ask them to be your bridesmaids?
We had four adult bridesmaids and one child. They were all asked through video calls.
How did you pick your best men and ushers?
I originally had two best men, however one has to drop out due to the birth of his child. So it was an easy pick. And the ushers were two of my brothers that didn’t have kids so they could focus on doing the ushering.
How many speeches did you have and do you have any advice for anyone giving a speech?
Three speeches, one from the bride’s father, one from the groom and one from the best man. The advice would be that no matter what you say, people are their to support you and to have a good time so just enjoy it. No one wants to see you fail.
What did you wear?
Sam wore a white wedding dress with a long train. Dan wore a charcoal suit with a burgundy tie that matched the bridesmaids dresses.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Nope!
What are your top tips for other couples?
Enjoy the day and accept the emotions you feel. Try and take it all in as the day will go incredibly fast.
Where do you plan to go on honeymoon?
We are looking for a hot place all inclusive after our second baby is born
