South Farm’s Guest Bedroom Refurbishment 2016

We are delighted to announce details of our recent guest bedroom refurbishment. During January and February 2016 an extensive programme of refurbishment and redesign was undertaken in the Bridal Suite and our four other guest bedrooms. We worked closely with interior designer Kate Mackenzie to design and create rooms that beautifully reflect the spirit of South Farm with quirky design features in each room reflecting wildlife and South Farm’s long heritage as a working farm.

The Bridal Suite incorporates the honey bee and the squirrel with beautiful wallpaper and fabric designed by Juliet Travers, Farrow & Ball and Barnaby Gates. The dressing room on the ground floor boasts lovely natural light perfect for bridal preparations complimented by clever lighting touches throughout. The serene colour scheme is offset with stunning accent colours and the spacious dressing area includes a full length mirror, large dressing table with glamorous hollywood-style lit mirror, long hanging and black and white photographs show-casing South Farm’s features.

The Bridal Suite’s first storey accommodation boasts the luxurious bedroom and another spacious seating area with views over the courtyard and gardens.

The Tack Room across the courtyard hints at its heritage with painted horseshoes adorning the walls, stylish  Graham & Green copper lamps and a copper mirror with leather strap.

The neighbouring Dovecote features beautiful calling birds fabric from Louise Body and floating feathers wallpaper and fabric from Juliet Travers with touches of vibrant colour throughout.

The Parrot Room in the main house overlooks the courtyard and is beautifully decorated with images of parrots, butterflies and tropical wildlife using a range of fabric and wallpaper from Sanderson.  The bath is the stand-out feature in this bedroom and typifies South Farm’s distinctly different design features.

The Stable Room makes great use of its two storey accommodation with the rustic original beams offset by Farrow & Ball muted greys throughout and stunning swallow and cow parsley motifs on the bespoke fabric designed by Sarah Hardaker.  A selection of cow parsley pictures adorn the walls by local artist Nicola Jeffreys.

All guest bedrooms have flat screen TV’s, teas by Kandula Cambridge Teas and Hot Numbers Cambridge coffee, and en-suite bathrooms with Neal’s Yard Remedies toiletries.  All South Farm accommodation is reserved exclusively for wedding guests and couples can choose which rooms best suit their nearest and dearest.  All guests staying at South Farm sit down with the Bride and Groom for breakfast the morning after the wedding.

Please get in touch if you would like to come along and see our newly refurbished bedrooms or alternatively do join us for our Open Evening on Tuesday 24th May 2016 between 4pm and 8pm when you will be able to view all the accommodation and all the other lovely features on offer here at South Farm.
